We provide governments, agencies and stakeholders with the concrete data, reports and analysis they need to develop the policies and regulations required to achieve economy-wide deep decarbonization.
Using EnergyPATHWAYS, our own state-of-the-art modelling software, USDDPP develops reliable, sector-by-sector, year-by-year energy system roadmaps — known as Deep Decarbonization Pathways — for cities, states and regions that meet the dual goals of reducing emissions 80% by 2050 and promoting a thriving economy. We are a non-partisan, non-political organization that believes independence and transparency are fundamental requirements for building a consensus around decarbonization strategies. Our organization is driven by data and science, and our modelling software, databases, methods and assumptions are 100% open-source and open to independent verification. USDDPP work currently supports decarbonization efforts in California, Washington, and New York.
In addition to supporting advanced regional decarbonization initiatives, USDDPP has produced two landmark national decarbonization reports. Pathways to Deep Decarbonization in the United States was a joint research effort led by the consulting firm E3 in collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Policy Implications of Deep Decarbonization in the United States was produced by a research team led by Dr. Jim Williams, together with Ben Haley and Ryan Jones.
