USDDPP is an experienced team of energy system experts working to empower decision makers and stakeholders to develop the goals, policies, and regulations required to achieve economy-wide deep decarbonization by 2050.
USDDPP's Principal Investigator is Dr. Jim Williams, Director of the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project (DDPP), and an Associate Professor of Energy Systems Management at University of San Francisco. Dr. Williams developed the DDP approach while previously serving as Chief Scientist at Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. (E3) in San Francisco, California.
Our team also includes Ben Haley and Ryan A. Jones, both also formerly associated with E3 where, together with Dr. Williams, they were instrumental in creating the EnergyPATHWAYS model and in conducting USDDPP's analysis for the DDPP effort. Both are now co-founding principals at Evolved Energy Research.
USDDPP has enjoyed a close working relationship with scientists at Lawrence Berkeley and Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, and is supported and advised by a range of experts including:
Jeffrey D. Sachs, University Professor and Director, Center for Sustainable Development, The Earth Institute at Columbia University in New York;
Michael Hogan, Senior Advisory at The Regulatory Assistance Project in New Hampshire;
David Ismay, Senior Attorney at Conservation Law Foundation in Boston;
James Bairey, a former Silicon Valley entrepreneur who helped launch numerous successful technology companies.
