About Us
The U.S. Disability and Development Policy Project (USDDPP) is dedicated to advancing the rights and opportunities of individuals with disabilities through policy advocacy, research, and education. We work at the intersection of disability rights and development, aiming to create a more inclusive society where people with disabilities can lead empowered lives and contribute to their communities.
Our mission is to promote disability inclusion across all levels of society, ensuring that people with disabilities have equal access to opportunities, resources, and services. We collaborate with governmental, non-governmental, and private sector organizations to influence policy decisions and promote the implementation of best practices that empower individuals with disabilities.
Our Mission
At USDDPP, our core mission is to shape public policy and social attitudes in a way that enables the full participation of individuals with disabilities in society. We work towards:
- Advocating for inclusive policies: We engage with policymakers to push for laws and regulations that improve accessibility, health care, employment, and education for people with disabilities. Our efforts aim to dismantle systemic barriers that prevent individuals with disabilities from leading independent, fulfilling lives.
- Conducting research and analysis: Through data-driven research, we assess the needs of individuals with disabilities and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and services. Our research helps inform our advocacy and the development of programs that address critical issues such as accessibility, economic independence, and social inclusion.
- Empowering communities: We collaborate with disability advocacy groups, community organizations, and other stakeholders to create programs that directly benefit people with disabilities. From providing access to resources to promoting inclusive environments, we focus on creating long-term, sustainable change in local communities.
Our Vision
Our vision is a world where individuals with disabilities are not only included but fully integrated into all aspects of society. We envision a society where accessibility is the norm, where inclusive education and workplaces thrive, and where people with disabilities have every opportunity to contribute their talents and skills to the betterment of their communities.
